Review

The Shadows Between Us has been marketed as a Slytherin romance, and it is.  Tricia Levenseller writes amazing female protagonists (Daughter of a Pirate King anyone?) and Alessandra is no exception.  She is strong and knows exactly what she wants.  Her methods are a little flawed and she has some issues, but Alessandra is great. As for Kallias, the Shadow King, he was basically everything you wished the Darkling was but turned out not to be. 

The story is good.  There are times when I thought the story was going to go one way and it went a completely different direction.  There were also times when I thought that the story was pretty predictable. What made this book so good was the character development.  These are two very closed off characters who think they have to make it in the world alone. Seeing them grow and believe in each other and themselves is amazing.  

This book is not light, there is a lot of violence.  Personally, I wasn’t bothered by that, but some might be.  If you can handle that then I highly recommend you read this book.  I absolutely loved it.
