Synopsis

Vanessa Mazur knows she’s doing the right thing. She shouldn’t feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.

But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.

For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.

What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?

Review

Mariana Zapata is one of the most consistent authors, and The Wall of Winnipeg and Me was exactly what I expected, which means I obviously loved it.

Slow burn, grumpy sunshine, with a little age gap – that’s what we got! I adored it. And Vanessa especially was such a great character. I loved how she wasn’t afraid to put Aiden in his place and show she stood up for herself. She had some damage for sure, but she knew her worth, which made her probably my favorite character from a Mariana Zapata book.

If you’ve read All Rhodes Lead Here, when I say Aiden is like Rhodes but even more monosyllabic and gruffer. Hard to believe, but it’s true. He makes no apologies for who he is, and I respect him for that. His growth through the book was my favorite thing, and while he’s never going to ahv4 a big group of friends seeing him open up was magic.

Each Mariana Zapata book I read becomes my favorite, so no surprise that The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is my new favorite.
