Review

The Upside of Falling is one of those super cute books that you can read very quickly.  It is not thought-provoking, just two teenagers trying to figure out their feelings while dealing with some family drama.

This is a fake dating trope, which I love.  However, the way the fake dating starts is a bit abruptly.  There isn’t a whole lot of explanation for it, and I felt like that could be fleshed out a little better, or that particular part would have been better told from Brett’s POV.  I enjoyed both Brett and Becca and like watching their friendship develop.

As I mentioned, both characters are dealing with family drama and that adds a lot of the drama/climax of the story.  While Brett’s issue came to a satisfying resolution, I was not entirely satisfied with how Becca’s were handled. I would have liked a little bit more of an explanation.

Overall, this was super cute and left me with a huge smile.  I do think parts of it could have used more details, but if you want a fun quick rom-com this is for you!
