Synopsis

Arden sells memories. Whether it’s the becoming homecoming queen or studying for that all important test, Arden can hack into a classmate’s memories and upload the experience for you just as if you’d lived it yourself. Business is great, right up until the day Arden whites out, losing 15 minutes of her life and all her memories of the hot boy across the school yard. The hot boy her friends assure her she’s had a crush on for years.

Arden realizes that her own memories have been hacked, but they haven’t just been stolen and shared… they’ve been deleted. And she’s not the only one, the hot stranger, Sebastian, has lost ALL of his memories. But how can they find someone with the power to make them forget everything they’ve learned? (Goodreads)

Review

I really enjoyed this book!  To me, it was like a combination of Truly Devious and Momento.  I have to admit I did not know much about this book when I started reading, but the mystery hooks you right away.  I literally read it in a matter of hours. It was extremely well written and I loved the characters, especially Arden.

This book brings to light a lot of ethical questions.  I really enjoyed the way they were handled in the book and it does make you think about how technology impacts our lives, especially when you think about its uses in the future.

The mystery portion of the book as interesting and kept me guessing the majority of the time.  While I did have an idea of who may have been stealing the memories, I still enjoyed the final outcome.

I think after reading and really enjoying this book, I have to finally admit that YA Sci-Fi is a genre I like very much!
