Review

In Five Years is a book that I found interesting, but I didn’t really like it.  I read some reviews that thought there was some sort of mystical time travel element, I wasn’t expecting that, but I was expecting more than what I got.

I loved the friendship between Dannie and Bella, they were polar opposites but you could feel the love they shared. And I really would have liked their story told without this whole dream/premonition around it.  For me, it added nothing to the story, and in fact, kept me from enjoying the story as much as I could have because I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.

In Five Years was well written and kept me engaged, but in some ways, it did so for the wrong reasons.  I kept waiting for the story I thought I was reading and couldn’t appreciate the story I was actually reading.
