Finale by Bea Paige

Synopsis

From the gutter to the stars…

Dance has always been the answer to everything.
It soothed my soul, kept me sane, gave me purpose.
It brought the Breakers back to me. It healed us.
This time dance isn’t enough.
It’s time to face our enemies. It’s time I fight back.
But at what cost?
My soul? The death of everyone I care about?
All I can be certain of is this…
I’m willing to do anything to protect the people I love.
Even becoming a monster.
This time there’ll be no rehearsals, just our grand finale.
I pray it won’t be our last.

Review

Finale is, as the name implies, the last book in the Academy of Stardom series.  This book picks up almost right after Breakers leaves off.

Maybe it was because I was so excited to read this, but I felt like this book went by VERY quickly!  Nothing was drawn out, and other than a few important pauses for a steamy scene here or there, this book’s focus was David. I appreciated that while there was some discussion of the aftermath of Breakers, the book moved on from that quickly, and we got to see Pen and her guys get down to business – in more ways than one.  My favorite thing about these books is the interactions between the Pen and the guys, and this book was no exception.

Finale is action-packed with a lot of big reveals, some that I saw coming and others I hadn’t seen at all.  There wasn’t much time to catch your breath between scenes, and I loved it. The ending of this book also sets up the next series, which sounds fantastic!  While I will miss Pen and her guys, I can’t wait to read what’s coming next!
