Review
Did you ever watch those Behind the Music documentaries? Well, Daisy Jones and the Six is like one of those. I listened to the audiobook, which has a full cast, so that may have colored my opinion of the book, but I really enjoyed it.
Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favorite authors, this book is similar to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, it’s fiction written as if it is non-fiction. It chronicles the band that was famous in the 70’s it focuses on their relationships. This is not exactly super plot-heavy. There is a story for sure, but I feel like this is very character-driven. It is told via interviews of the band members and others involved with the band.
These characters felt so real, I almost looked up the band online to listen to their songs. As you might expect in a book about a band from the 70’s there is a lot of drug use, sex, and some other hard issues. I loved how the book was written and reading about this band. This book like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo will be another one I am constantly recommending.
Hi Carolyn, your banner drops down over your posts and I can only read a few lines at a time, very difficult to do. Just wanted to let you know.
Thank you so much for letting me know.
I also loved this book! I won a Book Depository voucher and bought her other novel with it!
