Review
Ink in the Blood is one of the most original books I’ve ever read and I loved every second of it. Not only was this exploration of religion interesting as well as the exploration of what is good and what is bad. The story was great and so were the characters.
Celia was an interesting character. She was so morally grey, which I personally love. And though she didn’t always do the right thing, she thought she was making the best decision. The book mostly takes place in the midst of traveling performers. I’m sure you can only imagine the colorful cast of characters that added. Believe me, they were all very interesting.
As original, as this book is, I do also think it was a little predictable. I guessed the ending, or at least part of it pretty early on. Another thing I didn’t love was Celia’s obvious trust issues. While I do think they were warranted given her past, it did go a bit overboard.
All in all, this was a fun and exciting read. It is certainly a book that makes you think.
I got interested in this book because of its cover. I’ll give this a read when I manage to get my hands on it!
