Review
All Your Twisted Secrets is a young adult thriller. For me it was Saw meets the Breakfast Club. Six teens are stuck in a room together with a bomb and having to pick someone to sacrifice to save them all.
This is one of those situations where people are not exactly at their best, and it was hard for me to really like any of the characters. I do think the characters were well written and I liked that they seemed very real. I thought the reactions of all of them being in this situation seemed very authentic.
This is not an easy read. It deals with bullying and drug use and many other issues that kids face today. The story was told in alternating timelines between past and present that gave you a good backstory in a non-confusing way. I did find myself wanting to keep reading to see what would happen next. My one complaint was the end. I won’t ruin the book for you, but I just was not satisfied with the ending. And honestly, it sort of ruined the whole book for me. This is clearly personal preference so don’t let that dissuade you from what in my opinion was an otherwise good book.
