At the beginning of this year, I decided in an attempt to simplify my life and get my bookstagram and blog more organized I would start a bullet journal, or BuJo for short, dedicated to those two things. I am a planner by nature and I’ve done the bullet journal thing before so I knew that it would fit me. But I also know what I like and what works for me.
What You Need:
Honestly, You don’t need much paper and pen will do. There are a ton of notebooks you can use if you’d like a notebook.
This is a typical Bullet Journal Notebook. But having done this before I knew I wanted something larger and something that I could move pages around in so I went with the Happy Planner Happy Notes book.
I added the vinyl lettering myself, so you can’t get these personalized, but there are a ton of stores on Etsy where you can get something made. My personal preference is also for dot grid, but you can get lined, or regular or even blank, your choice.
Depending on what you’re going to do with your bullet journal and how fancy you are, you might want to get some colored pens. I am not an artist at all, but I do love color and color coding things, so a set of colored pens and pencils was important to me.
These are what I use, but truly any pen will do.

What goes inside:
Since we are talking about Book Bullet journals, I am not going to explain how true bullet journaling work. And this is your Book BuJo so you can put whatever you want in it, but here are a few spread ideas that I use:
Reading Log/Book Log
As I mentioned, I am not an artist so I got this graphic from the Simple Colour Beauty Esty shop. It was a digital download that I just printed on paper that fits in my planner. I write the book’s name on the spine and then I color in the books based on the rating I gave it on a scale of 1-5. I like a graphical representation, but a log would work, or a whole book review page for each book would work too. I also have a log for books that I own, and books that I need to read.
ARC/Review Tracker:
I get a decent amount of Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs) mostly in ebook form from Netgalley and Edelweiss (if you want a post on that, let me know). And I need a way to keep track of them. I need to know the publication date and also keep track of when I post my review. It is also helpful in planning out when I’m going to post book reviews on my blog, as I like to do it relatively close to their publication date.
Challenge Tracker:
I am admittedly bad at completing these but every year I attempt to complete a few reading challenges. Usually, the PopSugar Reading Challenge as it helps me pick up books I normally wouldn’t. Your Bujo is a great way to keep track of these types of challenges or reading goals.

I do – but it’s more of an entertainment bujo. I include monthly playlists, books read, movies I saw in the theater, etc. I’m a bit behind though, so I need to get going. LOL I have a monthly link-up called Keep It Together all about planning, scrapbooks, etc. if you want to join sometime (this post would work great!) It’s the third Thursday of every month.

Oh thank you so much for letting me know I would love to join in, and it will probably incentivize me to keep up with my Bujo!
