Bookish Charities: Part 4

Week four is upon us.  Here are two more wonderful charities that you should consider donating to.

ProLiteracy

ProLiteracy, the largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the nation, believes that a safer, stronger, and more sustainable society starts with an educated adult population. For more than 60 years, ProLiteracy has been working across the globe to change lives and communities through the power of literacy.

How you can help:

ProLiteracy has a ton of ways you can make a financial gift.  If you can’t make a monetary donation, you can get involved in their Advocate program.  They also accept volunteers helping adults learn basic skills such as literacy, math or computer skills.

Book Aid International

Book Aid International works with public, community and prison libraries to ensure the books we provide are available to all without discrimination. We also work to increase the support available to people as they begin to read by training librarians and teachers.

How you can help:

Book Aid International has a lot of ways for you to help.   They have a store where you can buy cards and tote bags that go towards helping sends books to those in need.
