When you read a book series, your sort of asking for cliffhangers, maybe it’s unanswered questions, maybe a character from the past shows up, or maybe, for example, your most favorite character is shot and bleeding out as the story ends. Dark romance especially is full of cliffhangers, and below are five of the cruelest cliffhangers I’ve read so far!

If you know me at all, you knew this one as making the top of the list. The end of this book destroyed me, and having to wait months to find out what happened was pure torture. No spoilers, but this was by far the most painful cliffhanger for me!

Why yes, this is another Tate James book on the list. Tate is the master of the cliffhanger, so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that two of her books are topping the list. This one was almost as brutal as Fake, and it was probably more brutal for a lot of people.

When I reached the end of this book, my heart dropped a little. How Jaymin do that to us? I’m not going to spoil anything but this ending was very hard to read.
This was a series where I was so happy that the entire series had been released. As soon as I finished this one, I went right onto the next book because I had to know what happened!
Fear Me is a dark bully romance with a lot of mystery, and it ends with quite a twist! Thank goodness the next book, Fear You, was out when I finished Fear Me.
