Synopsis

They all made a terrible mistake. One they will pay for.

For the past ten years I’ve been a victim. A victim to my pack. A victim to my true mate, who rejected me in the most brutal of ways. And a victim to Shadow Beast, who used me for his own gains.

Or did he?

The beast of mystery never reveals his whole hand, but one thing is for sure… in my time with him, I’ve changed. Now I will no longer walk the path dictated by the powerful men in my life. Never again will I let my strength be taken from me.

I must evolve or die.

And we all know, with a choice like that, there’s really only one answer.

Review

I really enjoyed Rejected, so the bar for Reclaimed was high, and the bar was met.  Mera is one of my favorite heroines, and Shadow is just dark and broody goodness.

At the end of the first book, the events are cleared up relatively quickly, which I prefer—no sense in spending several chapters on something unimportant.   Mera and Shadow’s chemistry is even more sizzling than in Rejected; I don’t know how that’s possible. I also like that we get to learn a lot more about Shadow’s past and world.  Book two often seems more like a filler book, but that was not at all the case with Reclaimed.

Reclaimed moves the plot forward, and it also gives us a lot more insight into Shadow.  There were a few plot points I had to side-eye a little bit.  But they are minor and forgivable.  Not only does the story progress, but so does the relationship between Shadow and Mera (thank god!).  I loved seeing Mera discover who she is, and I cannot wait for the next book.  Word of warning, prepare yourself for a brutal cliffhanger.
