Everyone rates a little differently, but I have to LOVE it for a book to be a 5 star read. It doesn’t mean that the book is technically perfect, but rather I connect with the book. In other words, it is entirely subjective. What is a 5 star read for me may just be a 3 star read for someone else. Everyone has different tastes. I love characters, the plot is undoubtedly essential, and I wouldn’t give a book 5 stars just based on characters, but it can take a 4 star read and push it to a 5 star.
Today I am sharing with you my last five 5 star reads. Looking at this list, these books have a lot in common, lots of romance and LGBTQ here representation here. I’ve read these books over the last three months, and you can see that most are newer releases, so if you are looking for a new book to read next check one of these out.
What were some of your latest 5 star reads? Do we have any of the same? You can see more of my 5 star reads here.
The only one of these I have read is The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and it was definitely a 5 star read for me as well. I have a few 5 stars out there in various genres. I agree, our ratings are totally subjective. A 5 star cozy mystery to me, would not even get 3 stars from someone who prefers classics or literary fiction. My most recent 5 star book is The Restoration of Celia Fairchild by Marie Bostwick.
