Natasha is an undocumented immigrant from Jamaica trying to find a way to stay in the US. Daniel is a Korean American trying to balance making his parents happy with making himself happy.
When their paths cross Daniel thinks its the Universe telling them something, Natasha isn’t so sure.
This is so much better than I expected it to be.
Daniel and Natasha could not be more different! Natasha is practical, and Daniel is a dreamer. Natasha liked facts and Daniel likes poetry. Reading this I found myself drawn to both of them. Natasha is very grounded and I respected that about her. Daniel believes in fate and chases what he wants, which is inspiring. I loved seeing these two very different characters challenge each other.
The story follows these two characters in the span of one day. They basically just spend the day walking around New York. This is where my original trepidation came in, because to me it sounded, well boring. And if you are the type of person who needs a really strong plot over good characters, this may not be for you. But the characters carry this story, and they do it very well.
If characters make a book for you, then you will love this book probably as much as I did.
Overall: 4
