Review
Resistance Women is a hard book to write a review for. While it is technically a work of fiction, it is based on true events, true events that mark an especially dark time in our world’s history. All of that being said I really liked this book. It tells the story of four women living in Germany during the rise of the Third Riech. All four of them in their own ways did what they could to rebel. I find that often history is told from the male perspective. While I understand there are many reasons for this, it was nice to see women being represented. Especially women brave enough to take on the Third Reich.
This was a third person narrative and very easy to read. Sometimes books like this can be a little hard to read, but this one read as a story. It was entertaining and engaging. Only one of the four women depicted was fictional. The author did a great job of showing four very different perspectives in this book. As well as the struggles of being a woman in Germany during that time.
I highly recommend this book. It was a fantastic read and certainly gave me new insights into this dark time. It also inspired me and gave me hope. These women were brave and put their beliefs in what was right and just before themselves.
I’m excited to read this because books like this one can get hard to read. Details become too boggy and characters grow dull. But I’m glad to hear that this book wasn’t like that in your experience!
