Rogue Princess is a Sci-fi gender-swapped Cinderella retelling. That seems like a lot going on, but I was also intrigued. I was right to be intrigued because Rogue Princess is a great book. It reminded me a little of the Lunar Chronicles in that it has that sci-fi edge, but that really more the setting than anything else. It never took away from the story or the characters.
I loved Delia, she was one of the most mature young adult protagonist I’ve read. She was pragmatic, maybe too much so, smart, and understood the gravity of the situation she was in at all times in this book. Aidan, of course, was great. His cockiness and charm were fun and played well against Delia’s seriousness.
The story was great, I loved that finally, a princess got to choose her husband instead of the other way around. There were a lot of twists, turns, and secrets to uncover, which, made this book a quick and enjoyable read. This was a fun book and I would recommend it to someone looking to start reading sci-fi.
Wow, I didn’t know anything about this book but now I’m very interested!
