Synopsis
Five years ago, I nearly lost everything. But there was a glimmer of hope on that darkest night. There was him—a stranger I could never forget.
Now, I’m finally getting the fresh start I’ve longed for. But when I show up to interview for a nanny position in the small mountain town, the single dad has startlingly familiar blue eyes.
Eyes that have haunted my dreams for the past five years.
Lawson Hartley is everything I know I can’t have. Older, handsome, and my boss. Not to mention the shadows in his eyes that tell me he has demons, too.
Still, he seems to understand me better than anyone I’ve ever met. So gentle and careful of my scars, yet somehow making me believe I’m stronger than I ever thought possible.
And when his lips touch mine, I’m lost.
We find what we’ve been missing in each other. But the terrors of my past aren’t done with me yet, and this time, Lawson might not be able to save me..

Review
In Ashes of You, the final installment of Catherine Cowles’s Lost and Found series, readers are treated to a thrilling conclusion that doesn’t disappoint. From the first page to the last, this book delivers the signature twists and turns that fans have come to expect from Cowles, keeping readers on the edge of their seats in the best possible way.
What sets Cowles’s books apart, in my opinion, are her heroines. Strong, fierce, yet undeniably vulnerable, they leap off the page and into your heart. Hallie, the protagonist of Ashes of You, is no exception. Her journey is one of resilience and determination, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way.
Of course, at the heart of the story lies the romance between Hallie and Lawson. Theirs is a love story that unfolds amidst the chaos of a hunt for a serial killer, adding an extra layer of tension and excitement to the narrative. Watching these two characters navigate their way to each other was both heartwarming and compelling.
As a longtime fan of the Lost and Found series, saying goodbye to these characters is bittersweet. However, Cowles wraps up the series in a way that feels satisfying and complete. Lawson and Hallie’s story reaches a poignant and fulfilling conclusion, leaving readers with a sense of closure and contentment.
While I’m sad to see the series come to an end, I can’t deny that Ashes of You is a fitting finale. Cowles has crafted a captivating series filled with memorable characters and gripping plots, and Ashes of You is no exception. It’s a book that will keep you hooked from beginning to end, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Sebastian York and Ava Erikson were so well cast. Sebastian York should do all older heroes if you ask me, and Ava Erikson was able to make Hallie feel young but also wise beyond her years.
if you’re a fan of romantic suspense with strong heroines and heart-pounding twists, Ashes of You is a must-read. Catherine Cowles has once again proven herself to be a master storyteller, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her readers next.
