Somehow I read The Confidence of Wildflowers without crying!! This story is so emotional, and I loved it!
The Confidence of Wildflowers is a small-town age-gap romance. If you don’t already know, I LOVE age gap romances. This one was full of angst, tension, and steam. Salem was a great character. She was young, so she certainly had some growing up to do, but I did think she had a good head on her shoulders. Thayer is the grumpy older neighbor, and I completely get Salem’s attraction to him. I admit I didn’t completely understand what he saw in her at first, but as the story continued, I got it more. Though, I think maybe dual POV would have happened with that too.
This plot is Salem and Thayer’s love story. Obviously, other things happen, but it’s very character-driven. That being said, it’s very emotional. Even though I had a hint of what happened at the end of this book, I was not prepared for it. The Confidence of Wildflowers was not easy to read, and I am glad I had the second book ready to go because I needed to know!
I loved this book, and I highly recommend it!
