I have lived in Southern California almost my whole life, and I love where I live. I also get why there are so many books, especially romance books, set in California. I mean there is the whole Hollywood thing, there is the beach, and there are certainly some not-so-nice areas as well. Here are some of my favorite romance books set in California.

I mean you knew this would be on the list right? Obviously, all of the Shadow Grove books take place in California, but Madison Kate is still my absolute favorite, and the series you should start with if you are going to start reading about this world.
I loved All the Feels, and this book actually gives you a very nice tour of California, though it does mostly take place in LA.
Bad Liar takes place in LA and it has all the glitz and glamour of the music industry. The story has class differences and all sorts of twists and turns.

Loved this one from the rom-com Queens. California doesn’t play a huge part but its a great book!
This hilarious book takes place in LA and Catalina Island, an island off the coast of LA. It is hilarious and if you haven’t read it yet you should!
